Commissioned by Maharana Jagat Singh I, this temple has remained a central place of worship in Udaipur for over three centuries. It stands as a symbol of the devotion and prosperity of the Mewar Kingdom at its height.
The temple is an architectural jewel featuring a main spire that rises 79 feet high. It is decorated with intricate carvings of musicians, dancers, elephants, and horsemen on the pillars and walls. The main idol of Lord Jagannath is carved from a single piece of black stone.
