The Fortress on the Maota Scarp
Commissioned 1439 CE by Dharana Shah // Jain Merchant Era
The temple was built in the 15th century by a Jain businessman, Dharana Shah, with the support of Rana Kumbha. It is dedicated to Tirthankara Adinatha.
The temple is legendary for its 1,444 intricately carved pillars, no two of which are identical. The entire structure is made of light-colored marble and reflects the peak of the Māru-Gurjara architectural style.
